Why it’s time to forget the diet and fitness quick fixes and aim for the long term.

You don't need a new you
You don't need replacing every year like another iphone
Don't throw yourself away like another piece of plastic trash
Love the old you!
Improve, evolve, do better, but head towards yourself not away
Be gentle with your mind. Author Matt Haig

As a women's health coach, I love the New Year and all its promises and excitement of new programmes and ideas, but it also comes with the deluge of New Year New You marketing campaigns that want to make me shout - enough of this, enough of this! My New Year series of blogs was inspired by this wonderful Author and mental health advocate Matt Haig as it simple  explains why we absolutely don’t need a “new year, new you”.

The main media is awash with messages and proclamations of living a healthier and happier life, new starts etc etc etc, but they are often rooted in the constant comparison to everyone else's life, women's insecurities about body image, promising rapid weight loss, overnight fitness gains and blah blah blah!

All focused on the things we need to fix!

I am interested in how we, as hard-working women, make time for the fundamental changes in our lives that last.

Because, trust me, as someone who has spent the previous six years recovering from perimenopause burnout and anxiety - the quick-fix solutions pumped out by the traditional fitness industry don't work! Especially during our peri-menopause and menopause years when our hormones start to fluctuate, quick fixes are not the solution - they never are.

So, if you are ready to change your lifestyle in 2024, forget the January quick fixes; think about long-term, knowledge-based changes based on science, and facts that will support you for life not just a New Year.

To support your journey, I have written a series of blogs based on my experience as a well-being coach and business consultant to provide you with ideas and direction so that you can take steps in 2024 that are sustainable and genuinely support your long-term health and well-being.
